PROGRAMS MANAGER / TEACHING ARTIST

Liz has worked with Rising City Arts at St. Demetrios Elementary School, PS 141, Queens Vocational High School and The Epiphany School. She is proud to have devoted many years to designing and implementing creative and cultural programming for populations of all ages from over 30 countries.

Liz graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in Theatre and earned an MA in Educational Theatre for Colleges and Communities from NYU, where she was a recipient of the Steinhardt Centennial Scholarship. She focused her graduate studies in Applied Theatre and Youth Theatre and had the opportunity to study, perform, and devise theatre in Rio de Janeiro with Julian Boal at the Centro de Teatro do Oprimido (Center for the Theatre of the Oppressed) and in San Juan at El Grupo de Teatro Yerbabruja.

In addition to her work with Rising City, in New York City, she has also collaborated with City Lights Youth Theatre, Step Up Drama, Upbring Dance Company, and Exploration Summer Programs at Yale University and Wellesley College. Liz has incorporated Forum Theatre, Image Theatre, and Newspaper Theatre in her work with adults and children to devise original, site-specific performances that stimulate community dialogue and promote positive change. She also served as a member of the Development teams at MCC Theater, City Lights Youth Theatre, and First Foot Theater. Liz helped launch and supervise the inaugural summer of the Oxbridge New York College Experience study abroad program for teens at Barnard College.
