EDUCATION DIRECTOR/ CO-FOUNDER/

TEACHING ARTIST/ ACTING TEACHER

Julian Rozzell, Jr. is Co-Founder and Education Director of Rising City Arts and has collaborated in class with The Academy of Finance and Enterprise, High School of Applied Communication and PS 69. Currently, he serves as Acting Teacher with The Riverdale Rising Stars.


In past, Julian was a teaching artist with City Lights Youth Theatre, Manhattan New Music Project, and Possible Arts. He has developed and conducted residencies in schools all over New York City; including the Bronx School for Writers and Artists, Bronx Latin School, PS 125, PS 140, PS 107x, PS 182, and CS 61. and the Horizon Academy at Rikers Island. He is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, the Rybinsk Theatre in St. Petersburg, and attended Radford University in Virginia. 


As an actor, Julian has performed extensively in New York at The Public Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, Theatre for the New City, Dixon Place, Soho Rep, and Brooklyn Arts Exchange, among others.  Regional credits include “The Piano Lesson” at the Arden Theatre, “No Exit” with Imago Theatre, and “Othello” at Texas Globe.  Julian has also appeared on “Law and Order SVU” and has a recurring role on “Boardwalk Empire”.  Julian is also a Visual Artist and Musician
