David has performed as a clown, mime, and juggler throughout the United States and Europe and in Central America, Russia, Israel, Japan and Australia.  He holds an MA in Educational Theatre and BA in Communications, both from Adelphi University.  He is a member of Actors Equity, SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild and has received artists grants from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and the New York State Council for the Arts.

His local affiliations include New York City Department of Education, Henry Street Settlement, Big Apple Circus, Neighborhood Music and Arts, The United Nations International School and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.  Elsewhere, David has taught theatre, circus arts and writing at The Cooper Union, Adelphi University, Wesleyan University, The Governor’s Magnet School of the Arts in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Miami-Dade Public Schools.

He has performed at Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, DisneyWorld, with the Hamid Morton Circus and in schools throughout the east coast. In Germany, David performed numerous solo shows to critical acclaim, and conceived and directed Kinderzirkus Taborka at the renowned Tempodrom in Berlin. He directed Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors at the American School of London and performed his solo show to rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

David is also a playwright, writer, and consulting editor with over a dozen published books to his credit. David was declared “Father of the Year” in TIME magazine in 2004. He lives in Manhattan with his two children, both aspiring acrobats in their own fashion.
